12 November 2025, 12:17  Finland: Current Account Surplus Narrows Sharply.

Finland's current account surplus narrowed to EUR 50 million in September 2025, sharply down from EUR 988 million in the same month a year earlier. This was mainly due to a sharp decline in the goods account surplus, which dropped to EUR 333 million from EUR 993 million a year earlier, as goods exports fell by 3% year-on-year, while goods imports grew by 8%. At the same time, the services account deficit widened to EUR 650 million from EUR 207 million, as service exports fell 11% while service imports grew 2%. The secondary income shortfall also rose to EUR 172 million from EUR 126 million. On the other hand, the primary income surplus grew to EUR 539 million from EUR 328 million in September 2024. The 12-month moving total of the current account was a EUR 1.5 billion surplus.
