11 November 2025, 20:03  United Kingdom: FTSE 100 Ekes Out New Record High.

The FTSE 100 climbed over 1% to new highs above 9,900 on Tuesday, as UK unemployment rose to 5%, the highest since 2021, boosting expectations of a Bank of England rate cut next month. Markets now price in an 80% chance of a December move. Vodafone surged over 5% more than 5% after reporting a return to profit in Germany and guiding earnings toward the top of its range. WPP jumped 5.6% on reports of potential suitors. Also, pharma stocks including GlaxoSmithKline, Hikma, and AstraZeneca rose about 3% each. Oil majors BP and Shell gained roughly 2.5% as crude prices firmed, supporting the broader market rally.
