11 November 2025, 15:44 Czech Republic: Inflation Rate Confirmed at 2.5%
The annual inflation rate in the Czech Republic rose to 2.5% in October 2025 from 2.3% in the previous month, confirming initial estimates. The main upward pressure came from higher inflation for food and non-alcoholic beverages (3.6% vs. 2.7% in September), and alcoholic beverages and tobacco (4.3% vs. 3.3%). Prices also rose at a faster pace for miscellaneous goods and services (3.1% vs. 2.9%), recreation and culture (4.2% vs. 4.1%), and health (3.2% vs. 3.1%). Meanwhile, costs for transport (0.2%), communication (0.5%), and clothing and footwear (-1.7%) remained unchanged. On the other hand, inflation eased for restaurants and hotels (4.7% vs. 4.8%), education (4.1% vs. 4.2%), furnishings, household equipment, and maintenance (1.4% vs. 1.5%), and housing and utilities (1.9% vs. 2.0%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 0.5%, reversing a 0.6% decrease in the prior period.
