The Czech unemployment rate edged up to 4.6% in October 2025 from 4.5% in the prior month, defying analysts' estimates it would remain steady. It remains at the highest level since March 2017, as the number of unemployed persons rose by 2.584 month-on-month to 340,509 and was up by 51,506 compared to the same month last year. Unemployment increased slightly in nine regions by 0.1 percentage points compared to September, while in the remaining 5 regions the number of unemployed persons remained at the same level.
