Malaysia’s unemployment rate declined to 3.0% in September 2025 from 3.2% a year earlier, marking its lowest level since April 2015 for the fourth consecutive month. The number of unemployed persons fell 5.5% year-on-year to a more than six-year low of 518.6 thousand, while employment rose 3.1% to a record high of 17.03 million.
