Tanzania's annual inflation rate stood at 3.4% in September 2025, the highest since June 2023, unchanged from the prior month. Prices slowed a bit for food & non-alcoholic beverages (7% vs 7.7% in August), but continued to accelerate for other items such as alcoholic beverages & tobacco (3.6% vs 2.9%); furnishings & household equipment (2.8% vs 2.4%); transport (2.1% vs 1.4%); housing & utilities (2.3% vs 2.1%). On a monthly basis, the CPI edged up by 0.1%, after decreasing by a similar margin in the previous month.
