8 October 2025, 22:26 Sweden: Inflation Slows to 0.9% in September.
Sweden’s annual inflation rate eased to 0.9% in September 2025 from 1.1% in August, coming in below market expectations for a slowdown to 1%, preliminary estimates showed. The reading remained well below the Riksbank’s 2% target. On a monthly basis, consumer prices were unchanged, defying forecasts of a 0.2% increase and following a 0.4% decline in the previous month. Meanwhile, the CPI with a fixed interest rate (CPIF), the Riksbank’s preferred inflation measure, rose 3.1% year-on-year, slightly below expectations for it to remain at 3.2% as in August. On a monthly basis, the CPIF increased 0.1%, less than forecasts of a 0.3% rise, after a 0.2% drop in the prior month.
