8 October 2025, 12:11 USA: 10-Year Yield Holds Decline.
The yield on the US 10-year Treasury note held around 4.13% on Wednesday after slipping about 4 basis points in the previous session, as growing concerns about the economic impact of the ongoing US government shutdown and global uncertainties lifted demand for safe-haven assets. The shutdown entered its second week with no resolution in sight, clouding the economic outlook, delaying key data releases, and pressuring lawmakers to reach an agreement. On the policy front, the Federal Reserve is widely expected to deliver another quarter-point rate cut this month, with an additional reduction seen in December. Markets now await the FOMC minutes and remarks from several Fed officials, including Chair Jerome Powell, for fresh guidance on the rate outlook.
