7 October 2025, 23:57  Canada: TSX Breaks 7-Day Win Streak.

The S&P/TSX Composite fell 0.6% to close at 30,352 on Tuesday, ending a seven-session winning streak as steep losses in mining names and weakness in tech weighed on the market while financials and energy also softened. Agnico Eagle, Wheaton Precious Metals, Barrick and Franco-Nevada led the decline, down between 1.3% and 2.4%, and mega-cap Shopify and Constellation Software lost 1.9% and 1.5% respectively following weakness in US peers. Economically, Canada’s Ivey Purchasing Managers Index jumped to 59.8 in September 2025 from 50.1 in August, marking a 16-month high and beating market expectations of 51.2.
