Construction output in the Czech Republic soared by 17.1% year-on-year in August 2025, accelerating sharply from a three-month low of a 10.1% gain in the previous month. The latest figure marked the strongest growth since January 2018, as output continued to expand notably in both building construction (11.2% vs 9.2% in July) and civil engineering (27.4% vs 11.5%). The approximate value of building permits granted rose by 12.2% year-on-year in August, reaching CZK 56.7 billion. Meanwhile, the number of dwellings started fell by 0.4% to 2,757 in August, while the number of dwellings completed increased by 35.4% to 3,033. On a monthly basis, construction output rose by 2.3%.
