The Economic Tendency Indicator in Sweden rose to 100.8 in October 2025 from 97.8 in September, surpassing its historical average for the first time since July 2022. Retail trade sentiment surged to 114.4, reflecting strong past sales and optimistic expectations for the next three months, though employment and price expectations remain subdued. Service sector confidence improved to 102.7, led by hotels, restaurants, and travel agencies, while personnel leasing remained weaker than normal. Manufacturing sentiment edged up to 100.2, supported by production plans despite weaker order backlogs. Construction confidence stayed below normal at 97.4, though one-year expectations reached their highest since 2016. Consumer confidence rose to 96.8 for the sixth consecutive month but remains cautious on major purchases.
