Retail sales in Portugal increased 5% year-on-year in September 2025, following a downwardly revised 4.4% rise in August. Sales of non-food went up 6%, higher than 4.2% in the previous month while sales of food rose 3.7%, below 4.7% in August. Compared to the previous month, retail sales increased 0.2% in September, the first gain in three months, following a 0.9% fall in August. Considering the third quarter of the year, retail sales were up 5.2% over the same quarter last year.
