The Euro Area seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 6.3% in September 2025, unchanged from September, in line with market forecasts. The number of unemployed increased by 65,000 from the prior month to 11.003 million. Meanwhile, the youth unemployment rate, reflecting those under 25 seeking employment, edged up to 14.4% in September from August's revised reading of 14.3%. Among the bloc’s largest economies, Spain (10.5%), France (7.6%), and Italy (6.1%) continued to see the highest jobless rates, while Germany (3.9%) and the Netherlands (4%) recorded the lowest. A year ago, the jobless rate was the same at 6.3%. In the broader European Union, the jobless rate remained steady at 6%.
