Romania’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 5.9% in September 2025, unchanged from the previous month. The number of unemployed persons increased by 1.5 thousand from a month earlier to 482.5 thousand. The jobless rate for men edged down to 6.1% from 6.2% in August, while that for women ticked higher to 5.6% from 5.5% in the preceding period. In September 2024, the jobless rate was 5.7%.
