29 October 2025, 20:56 Italy: FTSE MIB Rises Ahead of ECB and Fed Decisions.
The FTSE MIB gained 0.3% to close at 43,242 on Wednesday ahead of policy decisions by the ECB and US Fed before tomorrow's close. Banks led gains, with BPER Banca adding 2.6%, and Banca Popolare di Sondrio increasing 2.8% with support from strong earnings results in the Eurozone, including Santander and Deutsche Bank. Also, FinecoBank jumped 3.5% after Barclays upgraded the stock Overweight from Equalweight, raising its target to EUR25 from EUR20.60, citing ETF and AI-driven opportunities that favor its platform model. Stellantis added 1.1%, supported by optimism in the auto sector after Mercedes posted better-than-expected margins. Eni rose 0.5% on higher oil prices, while A2a gained 2.6% and Enel rose 0.5%. Luxury stocks lagged, with Moncler down 3.7% on flat sales and a weak outlook, pressuring Brunello Cucinelli to a 2.4% drop.
