29 October 2025, 14:52  Italian: Producer Inflation Picks Up to 1.1%

The annual industrial producer inflation in Italy accelerated to 1.1% in September 2025 from an eight-month low of 0.2% in August. Domestic producer prices increased at a faster pace (1.5% vs 0.5% in August), driven mainly by higher costs for pharmaceutical products and preparations (3.0%). Prices in the foreign market also rose (0.4% vs 0.3%), with gains recorded in both the Euro area (0.6% vs 0.4%) and the non-Euro area (0.3% vs 0.2%). The main contributors were food, beverages, and tobacco (6.1%) and transport equipment (4.4%) for the Euro area, and other manufacturing industries, repair and installation of machinery and equipment (5.3%) for the non-Euro area. Excluding energy, producer inflation edged down to 0.8% from 0.9%. On a monthly basis, producer prices rose by 0.2%, rebounding from a 0.6% fall in the previous month.
