Verizon gained 2% after reaffirming its full-year outlook, while Caterpillar jumped 4.7% following stronger Q3 sales. In contrast, CVS slipped more than 3% despite posting better-than-expected results. Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve is widely expected to cut interest rates by another 25 basis points later today.
