Retail sales in Estonia increased by 3.7% year-on-year in September 2025, rebounding from a 1.7% decline in the previous month. This marked the highest reading since June, driven by a faster increase in sales of computers, peripheral units, software, and telecommunications equipment (28.5% vs 1.6% in August), automotive fuel in specialized stores (21.8% vs 6.2%), and second-hand goods, retail sales in kiosks and markets, and other retail sales not in stores, kiosks, or markets (8.1% vs 4.0%), alongside a sharp rebound in sales for medical and orthopedic goods, cosmetic and toilet articles (5.0% vs -2.2%). Conversely, sales rose at a softer pace for textiles, clothing, and footwear (0.8% vs 4.1%), while sales declined further for food, beverages and tobacco (-4.2% vs -3.9%), other goods in non-specialized stores (-5.2% vs -4.7%), and audio and video equipment (-4.7% vs -3.6%). On a monthly basis, retail activity stalled in September, following a 3.3% fall in the preceding period.
