29 October 2025, 10:17  India: Stocks Edge Higher in Morning Trade.

The BSE Sensex climbed 151 points, or 0.2%, to 84,779 in early trade on Wednesday, halting losses from the previous session. The index tracked an overnight rally on Wall Street, supported by strong corporate earnings, ongoing AI enthusiasm, and expectations of Federal Reserve interest rate cuts later today. Optimism over a potential US–China trade deal also lifted sentiment ahead of Thursday’s meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Q2 earnings results and continued foreign fund inflows further supported market sentiment. Metal stocks led the gains, rising for the third consecutive session by 1.7%, followed by oil & gas (1.3%), technology (0.6%), and pharmaceuticals (0.6%). Among early gainers were JSW Steel (2.8%), Tata Steel (2.3%), NTPC (1.2%), Asian Paints (0.7%), and Larsen & Toubro (0.6%). Meanwhile, Adani Green surged 4.5% after reporting a Q2 profit that more than doubled.
