27 October 2025, 21:59  Italy: Stocks Close Sharply Higher.

The FTSE MIB gained 1% to close at 42,913 on Monday, outperforming most other bourses of the Eurozone amid easing trade tensions between Washington and Beijing ahead of the Trump–Xi summit. Hopes that the meeting will yield a truce pausing higher US tariffs and Chinese export controls boosted market sentiment. Banks led the advance, with BPER Banca adding and UniCredit adding 2.4%. On top of that, Banca Monte dei Pachi di Siena stood out with a 4% surge after Autonomous upgraded the stock to Outperform from Underperform and raised its target price to €9.18, citing an attractive entry point after months of caution over the Mediobanca (+1.6%) deal. Tenaris rose 2.2% after securing supply contracts for Mexico’s Trion deep-water project. STMicroelectronics added 1.1% to trim last week's earnings induced selloff.
