27 October 2025, 11:30  Turkey: Jobless Rate Highest in 9 Months.

Turkey’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 8.6% in September, unchanged from an upwardly revised figure in August. The rate marked the highest jobless level since November 2024, as the number of unemployed rose by 12,000 to an eleven-month high of 3.08 million, while employment fell by 200,000 to a five-month low of 32.49 million, pushing the overall employment rate down to 48.9% from 49.2%. Male employment was at 66.3%, compared with 31.8% for women. Labor force participation also declined slightly to 53.5% from 53.8%. Youth unemployment (ages 15–24) fell to 14.9% in September, down from 15.8% in August.
