23 October 2025, 07:55 Netherlands: Consumer Confidence Improves in October.
The consumer confidence indicator in the Netherlands rose to -27 in October 2025 from -32 in September, marking the first improvement in three months. This was the softest negative reading since last December, as the assessment of the economic climate was less pessimistic, improving to -46 from -53 in September, supported by better views of both the current and future economy. Opinions on the economic situation over the past twelve months were also less negative, at -55 from -62, while expectations for the next twelve months rose to -36 from -43. Regarding households, the financial situation over the past year improved to -16 from -18, and expectations for the next twelve months turned positive at 2, compared with -1 previously. The willingness to buy strengthened to -14 from -18, and perceptions of a favorable time for major purchases also rose slightly to -30 from -34.
