22 October 2025, 23:42  USA: Stocks Drop on Trade Risks.

The Dow fell 320 points from yesterday’s record close, the S&P 500 slipped 0.4% and the Nasdaq dropped 0.9% as markets parsed a mixed batch of earnings and fresh trade risks after Reuters reported the White House is weighing curbs on exports to China made with US software. Netflix tumbled 10% after results were hit by a tax dispute in Brazil. Tesla fell 1.4% ahead of its earnings report after the news that some recently built vehicles can suffer a sudden loss of battery power. On the earnings front, TI slid 5.9% on lacklustre guidance, weighing on other semiconductor names including Intel (-3%), AMD (-3.9%) and Micron (2.1%). On the upside, Raytheon Technologies extended its rally by 2% after delivering a strong Q3 report, raising full-year guidance and reporting double-digit sales growth in its defence segment, while Intuitive Surgical jumped 14.2% following strong results.
