22 October 2025, 23:35  Canada: TSX Recovers on Energy Producers.

The S&P/TSX Composite rose 0.3% to close at 29,983 on Wednesday, recovering from a sharp downturn the previous session as a rebound in energy stocks offset continued pressure on miners amid renewed trade and geopolitical uncertainty. Canadian Natural Resources, Suncor, and Imperial Oil led the advance, each rising between 1.3 and 3.1% after oil prices recovered on hopes for progress in US–China/India trade talks and reports India may curb Russian crude purchases, which tightened the supply outlook. Miners were mixed as gold extended a sharp pullback. Meanwhile, reports the White House is weighing curbs on exports to China of goods made with US software, kept risk premia elevated and trading cautious.
