22 October 2025, 21:27 Germany: DAX Ends on Negative Note.
Germany's DAX lost further ground to close about 0.7% down at 24,151 on Wednesday, after two consecutive sessions of gains, as traders assessed mixed corporate earnings from both sides of the Atlantic. Moreover, caution prevailed amid uncertainty over US-China trade talks, the stalled Trump–Putin summit, and the ongoing US government shutdown. On the corporate front, Siemens Energy (-3.7%) and Infineon Technologies (-2.9%) were among the worst performers. Adidas shed 2.8%, despite reporting strong Q3 preliminary results and an upgraded annual profit outlook, as JP Morgan trimmed its price target slightly. Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen also faced pressure, each down 2.2%, while SAP fell 1.5% ahead of its earnings release. On the flip side, Continental outperformed with a 1.6% gain, with Siemens Healthineers (+1.5%) and Scout24 (+1.4%) moving higher alongside it.
