21 October 2025, 17:11  India: Sensex Ends Higher on Special Muhurat Session.

The BSE Sensex climbed about 0.6% to close at 84,426 in Tuesday’s special Muhurat trading session, extending its winning streak to five days and marking a positive start to the new Samvat year. Market sentiment remained supported by ongoing optimism over earnings, sustained foreign inflows and easing concerns over US-China tensions. Among stocks, Bajaj Finserv, Infosys, Axis Bank, Tata Steel, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, Bajaj Finance and Tata Steel were the top gainers, adding between 0.5% and 1%. By contrast, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HCL Technologies, ICICI Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Trent and Bharti Airtel were the biggest laggards, with losses up to 0.8%. Markets will be closed on Wednesday on account of Diwali Balipratipada.
