20 October 2025, 23:03 Argentina: Trade Surplus Narrows in September.
Argentina’s trade surplus shrank to USD 921 million in September 2025, down from USD 982 million a year earlier. Imports rose 20.7% year-on-year to USD 7,207 million, driven by notable increases in intermediate goods (1.6%), consumer goods (45.7%), passenger motor vehicles (68.6%) and capital goods (47.7%). Meanwhile, exports rose 16.9% to USD 8,128 million, led by gains in primary products (43.0%) and agro-industrial manufactures (11.2%), with industrial manufactures also expanding (3.5%). For the year-to-date through September 2025, the trade surplus stood at USD 6,030 million, down from USD 15,057 million in the same period of 2024.
