Luxembourg’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 6.1% in August 2025, the highest since March 2021, up from 5.9% in the previous month. The number of unemployed persons rose by 797 from the previous month to the highest of 19,354 since July 2020. Overall employment climbed 2,050 to 524,074, with the active labor force among Luxembourg nationals rising by 1,858 to 318,592. In cross-border employment, outgoing resident workers fell slightly to 14,047, while incoming cross-border workers increased by 973 to 231,752.
