20 October 2025, 03:38 Oman: Inflation Rate at 13-Month High of 1.1%
The annual inflation rate in Oman accelerated to 1.51% in August 2025, up from 0.5% in the previous month, which had marked the lowest level since November 2024. It was the highest inflation rate since August 2024, primarily driven by faster increases in transport (4.5% vs 2.7% in August), miscellaneous goods and services (7.6% vs 5.3%), and restaurants and hotels (2.6% vs 2.5%). Additionally, food and non-alcoholic beverages fell the least in five months (-0.5% vs -1.8% in August). Prices also continued to decline for recreation and culture (-0.2% vs -0.2%) and furnishings and household maintenance (-0.1% vs -0.1%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.7%, rebounding from a 0.5% decline in the previous period and marking the fastest pace since October 2022.
