The value of building plans approved in South Africa fell 8.8% year-on-year to ZAR 8,097 million in August 2025, following a revised 5.3% drop in the prior month, marking the third consecutive monthly decline. The slump was driven primarily by additions & alterations (-22.0% vs 2.4% in July), while the non-residential segment continued to contract (-10.5% vs -25.2%). Elsewhere, residential projects remained flat (0.0% vs 2.5%).
