16 October 2025, 15:32  Italy: September Inflation Confirmed at 1.6%

The annual consumer price inflation in Italy stood at 1.6% in September 2025, unchanged from the previous month and confirming preliminary estimates. It remained the lowest reading since May, as prices eased for transport-related services (2.4% vs 3.5% in August) and unprocessed food (4.8% vs 5.6%). Meanwhile, costs increased at a faster pace for regulated energy products (13.9% vs 12.9%), while deflation moderated for unregulated energy products (-5.2% vs -6.3%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices declined by 0.2% in September, confirming preliminary estimates but reversing a 0.1% increase in the previous month. Core inflation, excluding energy and fresh food, edged down to 2% in September from 2.1% in the previous month, as did inflation excluding energy (2.1% vs 2.3%).
