UK construction output rose by 1.0% year-on-year in August 2025, slowing from a downwardly revised 1.8% gain in the previous month and marking the softest pace since January. Still, it was the 13th consecutive monthly increase. New work expanded at the softest rate in seven months (1.2% vs 1.5% in July), while repair and maintenance activity sharply weakened (0.7% vs 2.3%). Monthly, construction output declined by 0.3%, after showing no growth in August, largely dragged by repair and maintenance (1.5%), as new work increased (0.5%).
