15 October 2025, 03:06  New Zealand: RBNZ Adjusts Calendar to Shorten Gap Between Policy Sessions.

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) said on Wednesday that it has decided to shorten the gap between its November and December monetary policy meetings. According to the central bank’s updated calendar, there will be 10 weeks between a meeting in early December 2026 and the next one in mid-February 2027. By comparison, there is a 12-week gap between the final meeting of 2025 and the first in 2026. RBNZ Chief Economist Paul Conway said the primary consideration when scheduling monetary policy decisions is data availability, to make decisions with as much information as possible. “We acknowledge the perception that the gap between November and February is too long and have sought ways to reduce it within the confines of data availability,” Conway said in a statement.
