Consumer prices in Argentina rose 2.1% month-on-month in September 2025, following a 1.9% increase in August and matching expectations. Prices accelerated for education (3.1% vs. 1.7% in August), clothing and footwear (2.1% vs. 0.9%), and recreation and culture (1.3% vs. 1.1%). Meanwhile, prices slowed for transportation (3.0% vs. 4.6%), health (2.3% vs. 2.6%), housing and utilities (3.1% vs. 3.7%), restaurants and hotels (1.1% vs. 2.0%), communication (2.2% vs. 2.3%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (1.6% vs. 1.8%) and other goods and services (2.1% vs. 2.3%). Food and non-alcoholic beverage prices remained stable at 1.9%, while home equipment and maintenance also held steady at 1.8%. On a year-on-year basis, consumer prices rose 31.8%, continuing the disinflation trend and representing the smallest increase since July 2018, down from 33.6% in August.
