Hungary’s construction output fell by 15.2% year-on-year in August 2025, marking the first decline after four consecutive months of growth, following a 4.9% rise in the previous month. Output in civil engineering dropped 34.8% from a 4.7% increase in July, while building construction decreased 2.3%, after rising 5.7% previously. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction output fell by 11.4% in August, reversing a 0.8% gain in the preceding month.
