1 October 2025, 04:32 Ireland: Manufacturing PMI Rises from 5-Month Low.
The AIB Ireland Manufacturing PMI rose to 51.8 in September 2025, up slightly from August’s five-month low of 51.6. The latest improvement in manufacturing performance was supported by a quicker rise in new orders and another solid expansion in employment levels. Input buying rebounded in September, following a marginal decline in the previous month, amid higher purchasing activity. Suppliers' delivery times lengthened for the fifth consecutive month - and to the greatest extent since January - due to customs delays and transportation issues. On the price front, input cost inflation accelerated, driven by rising raw material prices and labour costs. However, output price inflation eased amid intensifying competitive pressures. Finally, business sentiment improved to an eight-month high, supported by optimism around a potential pickup in demand.
