The CAC 40 climbed 0.4% to close at 7,743 on Friday, extending its three-day rally and driving weekly gains to 2.5% as Europe’s earnings season wound down and fresh optimism emerged over potential Ukraine–Russia peace talks. Growing bets on imminent Fed rate cuts also supported equities after President Trump announced his intention to nominate Stephen Miran to the Fed board, a selection widely viewed as tilting policy toward easier monetary conditions. On the corporate front, Credit Agricole and ArcelorMittal led the advance with gains of more than 3% each while BNP Paribas, Stellantis, STMicroelectronics and Renault all added over 2%.
