8 August 2025, 15:32  Ireland: Industrial Output Growth Slows to Six-Month Low.

Industrial production in Ireland rose 12.8% year-on-year in June 2025, marking the slowest pace since December 2024 and slowing from a revised 34.4% gain in the previous month. The increase was driven by a sharp rebound in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (18.8% vs. -1.3% in May), while growth in transportable goods (12.8% vs. 39.7%) and manufacturing industries (11.5% vs. 36.2%) slowed considerably. On a month-over-month basis, output declined 11.3% in June, reversing a 12.0% gain in May. Manufacturing output also fell 12.0%, a sharp reversal from 11.9% monthly growth in May, largely driven by a halving of exports to the US. The slowdown reflects the unwinding of earlier tariff-driven frontloading, when manufacturers sped up shipments to beat anticipated tariffs, resulting in a later drop in output.
