8 August 2025, 15:25  Greece: Inflation Rate at Over 1-Year High.

The annual inflation rate in Greece rose to 3.1% in July 2025 from 2.8% in the previous month. This marked the highest level since April 2024, as prices grew faster for food and non-alcoholic beverages (2.8% vs 2.3% in June), and clothing and footwear (8.4% vs 4.9%). At the same time, decline in cost eased for transport (-1.1% vs -1.4%). In contrast, inflation slowed for housing (6.6% vs 7.2%), hotel, cafes and restaurants (6.2% vs 7.1%), recreation and culture (0.8% vs 1.2%), and communication (2.1% VS 2.2%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.4%, reversing a 0.8% gain in the preceding period.
