8 August 2025, 15:19 Jordan: Producer Price Deflation Eases in June.
Producer prices in Jordan fell by 0.18% year-on-year in June 2025, easing from a sharper 1.39% decline in the previous month. This marked the fifth consecutive period of producer deflation but was the mildest drop since February, as manufacturing costs fell at a slower pace (-0.70% vs -1.87% in May). The softer decline was mainly due to moderated price drops in food products, paper and paper products, and refined petroleum. Meanwhile, producer inflation in the mining and quarrying sector accelerated to 5.74% from 2.81% in May, largely driven by a 17.3% surge in the cost of extracting crude oil and natural gas. On a monthly basis, producer prices rose by 0.41% - the first increase since January - reversing a 0.17% fall in the previous period.
