7 August 2025, 16:17 Brazil: Producer Prices Fall for 5th Month.
Producer prices in Brazil fell by 1.25% from the previous month in June of 2025, extending the downwardly revised 1.21% drop in the previous month, to mark the fifth consecutive decline in producer prices. It was the sharpest monthly decline in producer prices since June of 2023, reflecting a potential shift to slower overall inflation in the Brazilian economy. Prices fell sharply for food goods (-3.43%), petrol, fuels, and biofuels (-2.53%) and metal goods (-1.85%), with the latter tracking the softer prices in global benchmarks. In turn, greater decline in the PPI was prevented by higher prices for pharmaceutical goods (2.23%). From the previous year, the Brazilian PPI rose by 3.24%, easing from the upwardly revised 5.86% increase in the earlier month, to mark the slowest inflation rate in one year.
