7 August 2025, 13:48 Greece: Trade Deficit Widens in June.
The trade deficit in Greece expanded to EUR 3.1 billion in June 2025 from EUR 2.4 billion in the same month last year, as exports dropped while imports increased. Exports declined by 8.3% year-on-year to EUR 3.9 billion, amid lower sales to third countries (-14.4%) and the EU (-3.5%). Meanwhile, imports rose by 6.4% to EUR 7.1 billion, driven by increased purchases from the EU (13.3%), while it decreased for third countries (-1.4%). Considering the first half of the year, the country’s trade deficit narrowed slightly to EUR 16.5 billion from EUR 16.8 billion in the corresponding period a year ago, as exports dropped by 4.9% while imports contracted by 3.5%.
