7 August 2025, 12:41 Iceland: Unemployment Rate at 10-Month Low.
Iceland’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate eased to 2.8% in June 2025 from 3.1% in the previous month, marking the lowest reading since August 2024. This was driven by the decrease in the number of unemployed individuals by 700 month-on-month to 6,600. Of these, 3,100 were unemployed men and 3,500 were women. The youth unemployment rate, which measures job seekers between 16-24 years old, grew by 5% from 4.7% in the preceding month. Meanwhile, employment increased by 1,100 to 230,400 in May. The labor force participation rate rose by 82.3% from 81.1% in the previous month.
