In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 Index went up by 224 points or 0.55 percent on Thursday. Top gainers were Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding (7.9%), Nisshinbo (5.0%) and Fujifilm (4.7%). Biggest losses came from Unitika (-6.7%), Meiji Holdings (-3.7%) and KAO (-2.4%).
