7 August 2025, 08:46  Australia: Exports Hit 16-Month High.

Australia’s goods exports grew by 6.0% month-over-month to a 16-month high of AUD 44.32 billion in June 2025, rebounding from an upwardly revised 3.0% decline in May, mainly driven by stronger shipments to China, the United States, and the UK. Exports of non-rural goods rose by 3.1% to AUD 32.32 billion, led by higher sales of coal, coke & briquettes (17.3%), metal ores and minerals (2.3%), other manufactures (4.8%), and machinery (0.4%). Additionally, exports of non-monetary gold surged by 36.7% to AUD 5.77 billion. Meanwhile, shipments of rural goods edged down 0.1% to AUD 6.20 billion, primarily due to a drop in sales of other rural goods (-5.5%). By destination, exports to China, Australia’s top trading partner, rose 9.0%, rebounding from a 0.4% decline in May. Exports also increased to India (19.3%), Indonesia (15.4%), Japan (26.3%), Taiwan (2.3%), the UK (160%), and the US (7.7%) after falling 8.9% in May.
