Retail sales in Slovakia fell by 0.4% year-on-year in June 2025, easing from a 1.8% decline in the previous month. This marked the fifth consecutive month of falling retail trade, albeit at a softer pace as sales rose in automotive fuel (1.5% vs 0.2% in May) and other goods in specialised stores (5.4% vs 1.6%), while ICT equipment (0.9% vs -0.7%) rebounded. At the same time, sales declined softer for other household equipment (-1.9% vs -10.6%), via stalls and market (-4% vs -11.4%), and for cultural and recreational goods (-15.7% vs -23.2%). Meanwhile, sales growth moderated for non-specialized stores (2.1% vs 3.1%), while sales continued to drop for goods not sold in stores, stalls, or markets (-4.8% vs -4.6%). On a monthly basis, retail trade grew by 0.2%, rebounding from a 1.3% decline in the previous month.
