Retail sales in Romania rose by 2.5% year-on-year in June 2025, slowing from an upwardly revised 2.8% in the previous month. Sales moderated for non-food products (5.8% vs 7.7% in May) and automotive fuels (0.2% vs 1.6% in May). Meanwhile, contraction for food, beverages, and tobacco (-0.7% vs -1.1%) eased. On a monthly basis, retail trade rose by 1.1% in June, reversing a 0.3% decline in the preceding period, marking the highest growth since September 2024.
