The RealClearMarkets/TIPP Economic Optimism Index rose to 50.9 in August 2025 from 48.6 in July, the highest in six months and above market expectations of 49.2. The Six-Month Economic Outlook, which measures how consumers perceive the economy's prospects in the next six months, increased to 46.1 from 44.5. The Personal Financial Outlook, a measure of how Americans feel about their own finances in the next six months, advanced to 55.7 from 54. Confidence in Federal Economic Policies, a proprietary RCM/TIPP measure of views on the effectiveness of government economic policies, went up to 50.8 from 47.3, ending a 47-month streak in pessimistic territory that began in September 2021.
