5 August 2025, 12:13  France: Industrial Output Rises Most Since 2020.

Industrial production in France surged by 3.8% month-over-month in June 2025, rebounding from an upwardly revised 0.7% decline in May and far exceeding market expectations of a 0.8% increase. This marked the strongest monthly growth in industrial activity since July 2020 - and the largest on record outside the pandemic period - driven primarily by a sharp rebound in manufacturing output, which rose 3.5% after a 1.2% drop in May. Within the manufacturing sector, transport equipment production led growth by 16.6%, largely due to a 26.7% surge in other transport equipment, particularly in aviation and aerospace. Output growth also accelerated in mining and quarrying, energy, water supply, and waste management, which increased by 5% compared to 1.7% in May. On a yearly basis, industrial output fell 0.4% in June. For the second quarter, industrial activity declined by 0.1% compared to the previous quarter.
