5 August 2025, 12:08  France: Budget Deficit Largest in 6 Months.

France’s government budget deficit narrowed to EUR 100.4 billion in June 2025, from EUR 103.5 billion in the corresponding month of the previous year. This marked the largest budget deficit since December 2024, as expenditures declined by 0.6% year-on-year to EUR 262.1 billion, while total revenues grew by 4.2% to EUR 182.5 billion. Meanwhile, the Treasury special accounts - which track the balance of inflows and outflows for targeted spending, such as receipts from local governments - recorded a shortfall of EUR 20.8 billion, compared to a gap of EUR 14.9 billion in the same period a year earlier.
